Hello, my friends. How are you doing today? I hope you’re having a good time.
Right now, I’m working on my book launch platform, testing the system that will help authors launch their books on Bitcoin. It has truly been an astonishing journey for me. I have learned so much about myself, so much about building a good system, so much about blockchain and Bitcoin, and so much about AI.
A few years back, I decided that whenever I start something, I’ll make sure I complete it. There were many times in my past when I started my endeavours with high motivation, and then, halfway through, I lost the motivation to complete them. Then I would jump on to something else, and the same cycle repeated again and again. So a few years back, I decided that I have to complete what I start. Otherwise, there is no way I’m going to achieve anything.
I had the same feeling when I started writing my book. The first 30 to 40% of the book was written very quickly, with lots of motivation, speed and energy. Then, as I moved on, things became harder. Of course, life was also happening to me. So many things were going on, emotionally and professionally. It became very, very hard, and by the time I reached 75 or 80% of my book, I had lost all my will to write. I lost all my motivation to complete the book. I forgot why I had even started it. Maybe nobody is going to like it. What rubbish am I doing? All these thoughts came to my mind so many times back then.
To be honest with you, I also respected those thoughts and didn’t force creativity out of myself. Because more than the idea of motivation and completing things, I felt that I owed it to my readers, my future readers, that the book I was writing should be full of love and full of my best energy. So I took breaks when I needed to. Sometimes I took a break of weeks. Sometimes I took a break of months, maybe two or three months, when I didn’t write a single word.
I tried to believe in myself. And eventually, no matter what, I knew two things: first, that I like to write and express myself, and second, that I need to finish what I started. So after a couple of months at the very worst, I restarted with the same energy, the same love and the same creativity that I owed to my readers. The same things I always owe my readers, and will always try my best to deliver to them. And somehow, I was able to complete the book.
I do feel proud of myself for doing that. It filled me with a lot of confidence that I have it in me to start and finish things that are challenging.
In a similar way, when I started working on this platform, where I wanted to launch my book first, I started with absolutely pumping energy. And to be honest, at that time I didn’t even know it was going to be such a long journey, just like I didn’t know when I was writing my book. Since you are so close to me, and since you take the time to read my words, I owe it to you to share this: I am again at the 70 to 75% mark of my platform. And sometimes it’s excruciating.
Sometimes I feel that I don’t know what I’m doing. Although I do know what I’m doing, I hope you can understand. When you’ve been trying to build something for two or three years, all kinds of thoughts come to your mind. I do take breaks. I don’t try to force myself to keep building. However, I now know that I also need a sense of discipline and consistency. I can give myself a day or two of a break, but since I have to finish what I started, I always come back.
I’m trying to set smarter goals for myself, with more feasible and achievable milestones. I’m backing myself to take small steps every single day. I’m trying my best to do justice to the work, the responsibility and the accountability I have in my hands. I owe it to myself to give myself my trust and belief, but at the same time, to push myself, discipline myself and train myself to be a better version of me every day.
There are days when my mind and my body ask me to take a break. Once I do, they try the same thing every second day. But I try to keep the balance between discipline and leisure in the best way I can. Sometimes I feel I should push myself more. Other times, I feel I should live my life and enjoy it more. So I always reach the same conclusion: ultimately, I have to find a balance. I strongly believe that you have to find a balance to stay on a path that is sustainable, and to make sure you achieve long-term growth.
I’m a totally different person from who I was many years back, and I love that about myself. I owe it to all the experiences, all the learnings and all the people I have met who influenced my life, in a good or a bad way, and ultimately pushed me to be where I am right now.
I’m enjoying talking about myself with you. I hope you are having a good time too. I hope you are pushing yourself, keeping the balance between discipline and leisure, and treating yourself with trust and belief. I hope you are trying your best to love your family, your friends and your loved ones, and trying your best to learn every day and be a better version of yourself.
I wish you a great day ahead, my friend. Keep shining. Keep pushing.
Let’s win it.
