Hello friends,
My love and family. I hope you are having a great day. I wish you a fantastic one ahead.
This is about the time, when I used to live in Mumbai. A very nice city in India, but very expensive to live.
This is about 8 years old story. I used to live with a few flatmates, and there was a cook, who used to come, but not on Sundays.
One can argue, that it is an only day, people want someone to cook for them. But, that was her rule.
Every Sunday, one of my flatmate used to cook something for lunch. And, one fine day, they argued that I should cook today.
I conveyed them that I am not that great in cooking, but they took it is an excuse to not cook, rather than an honest confession.
They were bound to doom, for sure. Haha.
I agreed on Tomato rice, as it was the easiest option available, there was a guy, who used to cook it good. So I thought, it could help me.
I called my mum, and took her expertise, to cook some rice for 4 people. She did her best, whatever she could have done over a phone call.
First, I radically miscalculated the size of the cooking vessel and amount of rice, I have put in it. Soon it started overflowing, and I had to use another cooking vessel to shift half of the material.
After extensive hard work, when the rice was finally cooked. We started eating, realizing that there was no salt in it.
But good part about salt is, you can add it later. My flatmates never asked me to cook again. Haha.
As they got their lesson, and I got mine.
Later on, I did start cooking like a pro. I love it, because it very relaxing and rejuvenating.
Do share, why you love cooking in the comments.
Much Love and Blessings.
XOXO

Couldn’t agree more Faye. It makes me feel like a scientist, trying different things, and judge the effect from the smell of the curry. 😄

Hi.. Just started following you.. I could relate to your situation as I had few bachelors in my neighborhood building and one of them was my cousin who just shifted to Mumbai, so initial days he came to have dinner with us and sometimes I sent for all four.. They loved the food by me.. And I agree with you totally Mumbai is the most expensive city
