Hello again!

How does it feel to deliver awesome work? Especially, when you yourself made it meaningful, just by using your observations. Suddenly you must be finding yourself stuffed with new ideas and recommendations to improve the quality of your deliverables.

Simply because now you understand the purpose of your work, which constantly backs you in finding efficient ways to fulfill it and since you have already established your credibility, people are now taking you more seriously. Exciting times are coming, my friend!

Another reason to read the first part is, that being the best is not an event, it is a journey. So, you need a sense of timeline to grasp the thought flow.

So, in the last article, we emphasized delivering great work, one which is aligned with business objectives, accurate and nicely presented. But how to use this great work to take you ahead, to make you the queen or maybe more. Today, we will look forward towards building a mindset, which will enable you to use this great work and be incrementally successful.

Keep in mind, today, it is less about physical efforts and more about mental preparation. With this, we are ready to take the next step in our journey to success

Own it

You are doing exceptional work, you are reliable, and your high-grade work is earning appreciation for itself, whatever it is, small or large task, if you own it, it will be just fine.

If you want your good work to flourish and take you to summit then it should be, YOUR good work, and your work is only yours’ if you OWN it! So, own your work.

Like an artist, that if I am doing this job, then I own it, anything goes wrong, I will answer!

Then only you deserve the appreciation your work is creating, and that feeling, that my deliverables are good! Smile 😊

Just this feeling of owning that task will make you work hard and do your best. You do a good job, not in just one thing, you do good in whatever you do until you are not the best, you keep hustling but you do the best work in the end. That is your brand. Brands attract the world.

So, own it! Until you can’t own it. You need to keep doing the work, anything, but something to do it best. So that, when you say I’m done, everybody knows that he/she has done his/her best. They won’t question you.

I know you are looking for a real-world example to visualize yourself doing it and get convinced. But, owning is something you feel, so feel it! And don’t expect an example. I don’t have!

Generally, the credibility of an idea decreases, if not provided with an example. But I am not a guru! Or some billionaire, I am just like you! Confused and trying to do something. But I can assure you the feeling, it feels awesome to own something good.

You don’t have to be a Big shot, to feel. Rite?

The feeling is same, like owning your favorite shirt or shoes, you keep them in best possible conditions, clean, safe, and shiny because you just love them and you proudly say that this is mine. The same feeling, when applied to your work, will bring astonishing implications.

Things will be great, trust me!

Be a Black box

 You know, what are most valuable elements on this planet? The elements who are rare. Like gold, platinum, diamond, love etc. etc. They are shiny and scarcely available, hence,  people are crazy for them. Now, you are a resource who do great work, it’s rare. So, keep it like that.

Be a black box, if you have received appreciation, there is no need to boast around. Do you know? I did it like this or that. Be modest and silent about your work, it will make you mysterious, and everybody loves mysteries.

Anyways, even if you tell them, that you do all this, they never going to understand anyway. People look for magic tonics, but they aren’t any in this world.

Being the best is less dependent on your skills or your educational qualifications but is more dependent on your attitude. Attitude to be the best always! It is also dependent on your hunger. Hunger to reach the top!

While being mysterious about your talent, you must help everybody to be the best of themselves. Well, this is also a topic of some other day. So, in the meantime,

Increase your value, Be Rare!

Never Say No!

Well, here is a tricky part, you doing good, you know your game now, everything going absolutely fine. Suddenly, one day you get a call from your boss and you are asked to do something you never have done before. some new work or an assignment not necessary a promotion but an add on to your current work.

And now you are cold, confused, reluctant and what not. In such circumstances, the usual question people ask to themselves is “Would I be able to pull this off?” or ” Do I have time for this, I am already stuffed!”.

Well, the first question is a wrong one to ask and the second one is totally irrelevant. I’ll tell you how. Instead of doubting your abilities which comes later, the first question you should ask yourself is ” do I really want this?”

I am doing good work, people are appreciating, I am giving great ideas, I am the champ of my game now, do I really need to take this up?

Because if I take this up I might have to learn new things, restart the whole process to master this and be as good as I am right now in my current stuff, Do I need to disturb my peace, my comfort?

Everybody loves to live in peace, right?

Now, this split second is the most important part of your journey ahead. Listen to the voice that is coming from you. Am I happy to be where I am, ?or I  am made to do something more, something big? Am I destined for some other place or is this fine for me?

If your intuition asks you to stay, then stay and say no. Nothing bad in it.

But if it says that this is not enough. That your dreams can’t wait to come true, say Yes!

Say Yes! and learn it, if it is difficult, ask your boss to guide you, If it’s hard, he’ll know. You might also get a chance to work with him, a chance to directly show him your talent. Or you can be introduced to new people in the organization which will extend your network, another opportunity to market yourself across the organization.

Regarding time, be blunt and honest tell your boss that your current work requires this much effort and taking up new work will require that much efforts, and leave the ball in his/her court. whether he/she wants to bring more people to lighten your burden or they are ready to give you extra time to complete the new task.

Better bring this point after you accept the offer and do count your recreation time when you are estimating efforts, you are a human, not a machine.

If they are reluctant to give you extra time, make it clear that you deliver quality, not quantity. In this modern era where the nature of jobs is changing, everybody wants quality.

See, when people say life is like a race, they are not wrong, it is like that only, and you can stop anytime you want. The moment you feel this is enough, good sit and relax. I know Sky is the limit but there are many motels and towns in between, you can always stop. I hope you get the analogy. I can’t help it. I just love to talk double meaning.

But if you are hungry, keep running and grab anything which comes your way to help you grow your knowledge, your network, and your influence. These things will help you grow up in life and don’t worry, money will follow.

 Keep these things, which we discussed today in your memory, as they will help you develop that mindset which will take you far ahead from others, with the help of your impeccable work and strong mental strength you are about to do wonders.

But our work is still not done, when you start on a journey to success, you do not want to leave any stone unturned. Hence, there are still few things left to explore and master, before you can be ready to take that position amidst the elites.
