Quarantine Times of India: The Last Edition

Estimated Reading Time: 5 Minutes

Hello,

I hope you are safe and doing fantastic.

Welcome to the 10th and last edition of Quarantine Times of India. I decided to discontinue this blog series, as I think it is time to stop giving Corona too much hype.

Even if we are cursing it, we are talking about it, and at the same time reinstating its fear in our and other minds.

I got this idea while having a conversation with one of my clients who owns a high-performance food supplements brand in the US, with the name Fight Club Nutrition.

The brand caters to high-stress athletes like Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters and professional or aspiring Boxers.

He told me, that he doesn’t want to talk about Corona or Lockdown o his customers. Though from a business perspective, it is important to stay relevant to the current topics in the market, I don’t think there is the same obligation applied to personal blogs.

Certainly, I don’t want to include the fearful vibes of Corona in my blog anymore. Hence, time to move on.

It’s been almost 14 days since I am back at home, and home quarantined, I just can’t wait t live one more day before I take out my bike and go for a much-needed ride.

Racism, another evil of the colonial period is under the beating from quite some time. It has created dissonance in society for so long.

People think they are not appreciated in the society, and hence don’t want to be included in it. which in turn makes the society dislike them, and the circle goes on.

From Fear of negligence to negligence out of fear. Wuf.

I was reading a post from the Snoop Dogg, the famous American rapper, explaining why Black people in the US, have surnames like Washington, and Jefferson.

Because people like George Washington had a huge number of slaves with them, and at that time people used to pass their surnames to their slaves.

In another interview, I heard the great boxer Muhammad Ali narrating a story, when in his childhood he asked his mother, that why there are all white people in the portrait of “The Last Supper”?

He said he used to wonder why there are no Black angels in the portrait? where do these black angels live, if not with the Jesus?

A country where the president lives in the white house, how deeply embedded it is with the idea of racism, I wonder.

While the great Abraham Lincoln abolished slavery in the US a century ago, its seeds in the subconscious mind of America are still present.

And, the only way to kill it is to accept that there is only one bond on this universe which binds us all homo sapiens and that is the bond of humanity.

Other than that, nothing matters, especially religion, the color of the skin, or the caste of a person.

The Current Time

I think we all have understood the fragility of human life on this planet by now. While we were still fighting among themselves assuming that we still have a lot of time to tackle climate change.

A much-needed awakening is delivered by nature. It is evident that all these classifications are man-made and nature just doesn’t give a fuck.

I think we all are equally intelligent as there were people centuries ago, and hence there is no need to bondage ourselves with the rules they made.

Maybe that time was right for it then, it is certainly not now. Our world has changed and with it, we need to change too or perish.

To fight for sustaining humanity can only be won together or it will be too late. it is time for all of us to see a bigger picture.

The Good News

The good news is that our awesome bond of humanity is still very powerful and just needed to be further dug and explore by us all.

Recently, I came across a very the tragic situation with one of my close relatives, a typical example of something, when our time is just not right for us.

Under desperation to help her out in any way possible, I turned towards my close group of friends to raise money for her medical treatment. to my amazement, people came out with their full strength and together we raised more than INR 2,00,000 in just less than 24 hours.

It is just awesome, how together we can make impossible things happen seamlessly.

I think phenomenon like Racism, Communalism is all in our brain and is motivated with the events of the past and intelligence of the people long gone.

I would be wrong to say that people are not getting discriminated against on the basis of anything that seems unredeemed to one race or community. but, using violence and chaos to fight these evils won’t be fruitful under the circumstances of today’s world.

if we really support the fact that we all are equal, all we need to do is to keep it in our hearts and minds and reflect the same in our actions.

Because what we do, think, or say today will be taken up by our children to the next leg of the societal evolution.

If we want to eradicate it from the history of humanity, we need to cut the flow of such ideas to the next generation.

We all are one and are the Sons & Daughters of the same creator, i.e. Nature.

Thank You.
